1. Our Privacy Position

Reporter is designed for object-category alerts, not identity recognition.

Reporter does not perform facial recognition. Reporter does not identify, name, verify, authenticate, track, or profile specific individuals. Reporter does not create, extract, store, maintain, sell, share, or use faceprints, facial geometry, biometric identifiers, biometric templates, voiceprints, fingerprints, retina scans, iris scans, gait signatures, or other biometric identifiers.

Reporter does not use customer images, alerts, detection events, device data, or user data to train artificial intelligence models, machine learning models, facial recognition systems, biometric systems, advertising systems, profiling systems, or third-party data products.

Reporter does not sell customer images or detection data.

2. Information We May Collect

Depending on your use of the app and product, Reporter may collect or process the following information:

Account information, such as your email address, name, login information, account settings, and support communications.

Device information, such as Reporter hub identifiers, sensor node identifiers, app instance identifiers, push notification tokens, device status, firmware version, signal status, battery status, and configuration settings.

Event and alert information, such as alert history, detection category, event time, device name, device location label chosen by the user, notification status, and related user-selected settings.

Images or event media generated by Reporter devices, if your system is configured to capture, transmit, store, display, or send event images through the app or cloud features.

App diagnostic information, such as crash logs, error logs, app performance data, device model, operating system version, and technical information needed to maintain and improve app reliability.

We do not collect biometric identifiers. We do not use images to identify people. We do not train AI models using customer images, alerts, or data.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only to provide and support the Reporter product functions selected by the user, including:

setting up and managing Reporter devices;

providing object-category alerts and notifications;

displaying event images and alert history;

saving user settings and device configuration;

providing customer support;

maintaining app, cloud, and device security;

diagnosing errors, crashes, and performance issues;

complying with legal obligations; and

protecting users, the product, and Summon Gear LLC from misuse, fraud, or unlawful activity.

4. How We Do Not Use Information

We do not use customer images, event data, alerts, or device data for facial recognition, biometric identification, AI training, advertising profiles, behavioral profiles, data-broker products, surveillance databases, or sale to third parties.

5. Service Providers

We may use service providers to operate the app, cloud features, hosting, notifications, data storage, security, diagnostics, customer support, and related product functions. These service providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to us and our users.

6. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for where and how you install, aim, configure, access, and use Reporter products. You are responsible for complying with all federal, state, local, privacy, surveillance, recording, consent, notice, signage, property, HOA, landlord/tenant, workplace, and other laws or rules that apply where Reporter products are used.

Do not use Reporter products for unlawful surveillance, stalking, harassment, trespass, invasion of privacy, unlawful recording, discrimination, or any illegal or improper purpose.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide Reporter product functions, support users, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect against misuse or unlawful activity.

Users may delete certain data through the app where available. Users may also request deletion by contacting us at:

Some information may be retained where necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, backup recovery, or legitimate business purposes.

8. Account Deletion

If the Reporter app allows account creation, users may request deletion of their account and associated data through the app or by visiting:

After an account deletion request, we will delete or de-identify associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit where applicable. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials, mobile devices, Wi-Fi networks, routers, hub, sensor nodes, and app permissions.

10. Children

Reporter products are not designed for children and are not intended for use by children. Reporter products are intended for use by adults who can lawfully install and operate security and notification equipment.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the app or on our website with a new Last updated date.
